This notice explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

We do not ask for your name, address, ID number, banking details or health information, and we have no account system. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies of its own and runs no third-party tracking scripts; its stylesheet, script and images are all served from this domain. When you click through to a retailer, that retailer sets its own cookies under its own policy — including the cookie that records the referral. Your browser settings control those.
Who we share it with
Our hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf. Affiliate networks and the retailer receive the referral identifier described above. We disclose information further only where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. We do not sell personal information.
Cross-border transfer
Our hosting and email providers may store data on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on section 72 of POPIA and use providers that are bound by contractual terms offering comparable protection.
How long we keep it
Server logs: up to 12 months. Email correspondence: up to 24 months after the matter is closed, unless we are obliged to keep it longer.
Your rights under POPIA
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct, update or delete information that is wrong, misleading or no longer needed.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent where our processing relies on it.
- Complain to the Information Regulator.

Security and changes
We keep this site deliberately simple — no logins, no payment forms, no databases of readers — because the safest personal information is the kind that was never collected. If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
