By using this website you accept these terms. They are short on purpose.

1. What this site is

KOEL is an editorial website that publishes information and opinion about consumer skincare products available in South Africa. It is not a shop. We do not sell, stock, dispatch or invoice any product, we hold no inventory, and we never take payment from readers.

2. Purchases happen somewhere else

Our purchase buttons send you to Takealot.com. Any order you place there is a contract between you, Takealot and the seller shown on that listing. Price, stock, delivery, warranty, returns, refunds and consumer remedies under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 are governed by that retailer's terms — including the cooling-off right for electronic transactions under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, where it applies to a given item. We are not a party to your order and cannot act on it.

3. Prices and availability

Prices we quote are a snapshot taken from the retailer's listing on the date shown beside them, in rand. They change without notice and can be wrong. Always check the retailer's listing before you buy; it prevails over anything written here.

4. No medical advice

Content on this site is general consumer information. The cosmetics we discuss are not registered with SAHPRA as medicines or medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Nothing here substitutes for advice from a doctor, pharmacist, dermatologist or optometrist. Stop using any product that irritates your skin or eyes and speak to a healthcare professional.

5. Accuracy and liability

We write carefully and correct mistakes when we find them, but we give no warranty that the site is complete, current or error-free. To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on this site, from a retailer's or seller's conduct, or from a product you bought after following a link. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot lawfully be limited.

6. Intellectual property

Our words, layout and code belong to us; you may quote a short extract with a link. Product photographs on this site are the manufacturer's or retailer's and are used to identify the product being discussed. Brand names and trademarks belong to their owners, and their appearance here implies no partnership or endorsement.

7. Acceptable use

Do not scrape, mirror or republish this site wholesale, attempt to interfere with it, or use it unlawfully.

8. Third-party links

We link out. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their security or their privacy practices.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
